Outcomes
Children
Any Tarrant County child with an unmet need is welcome to seek help at Gill Children's Services. Last year, Gill provided financial assistance to 1,097 children. Of the children served last year:
-
88% come from low-moderate income households
-
46% are living in poverty
-
81% represent ethnic minorities
-
19% are not citizens of the United States

1,097 children helped last year
Gill has helped over 14,000 children in the last decade.
Parents
When parents reach out to Gill to help their child, they have exhausted all other options. Of the families we helped last year, 88% had at least one working adult. With 88% of our families living below 80% of the area's median income, many simply cannot afford the full cost of their child's need. We partner with parents to ensure their child's needs are met.
Parent Impact
Collectively, parents contributed $186,464 towards their child's needs. On average, a family is able to contribute $115 per child.

Services
The goal at Gill Children’s Services is simple: to help as many children as our resources will allow. Gill allocated $864,517 to provide 1,617 critical services benefiting 1,097 children in Tarrant County last year. Over the past five years, demand for our services has significantly increased, with a 60% rise in financial aid allocation since 2021. Tarrant County's rapid population growth, inflationary pressures, and Gill's increased visibility have all contributed to a surge in applications for our financial assistance.

Funding Allocated
The need for dental treatment has increased. Funding for root canals, stainless steel crowns, extractions, and anesthesia and facility fees for surgeries has increased by 32%.
Funding
Because Gill is supported by a small group of committed, private donors, each dollar must be leveraged carefully. Gill partners with local providers such as dentists, hospitals, and companies to provide services to children. Many providers generously grant us a discount, allowing every donated dollar to be stretched. Last year Gill secured an average provider discount of 70%, resulting in over $2.4 million in savings. Every $1 donated had a $3.34 impact.
Sources of Revenue
Fewer than 250 donors generously support the organization annually. The program is funded completely privately.
