Tarrant County Resources for Orthodontic Treatment

The following programs may be able to assist Tarrant County residents with orthodontic treatment.

Eligibility

Orthodontic braces

-Age: 11–17

-Household income: At or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level

-Single-parent household

-May not currently be wearing braces

-Only one child per family is eligible for an orthodontic grant each calendar year

Orthodontic Scholarship

-7 to 18 years old

-Must have “good” oral hygiene, moderate to severe need for braces

-Not be wearing braces currently

-Family must meet the SCL financial guidelines (varies by geographic location);

-Be willing to pay the non-refundable $30 (USD) application fee and the non-refundable $650 (USD) required financial investment (per child).

Orthodontic braces

-Currently not wearing braces or a retainer.

-Applicants are ages 10 to 18 years old.

-Have “good” dental hygiene practices.

-Must be enrolled in school with a C average or above GPA.

-Must have a social impediment or moderate/severe need for braces.

-Family income must meet our financial guidelines
