Gill Children’s Services may help cover the cost of summer school tuition for your child. Please read this page carefully before applying.
Eligibility
You may apply for financial assistance for summer school if your child:
- is 18 years old or younger
- is a resident of Tarrant County
- is in middle or high school
- has good citizenship and attendance
- has failed to gain the skills necessary to advance to the next grade
- has not received summer school assistance from Gill Children's Services in the past
- is not eligible for any other assistance program
Application Instructions
You may apply online or in person.
Online
Parents are encouraged to apply online. In order to submit your application online, you must attach income verification and your child's referral form. Your online application must be submitted by your district's deadline.

In-Person
If needed, you may submit your documents in-person at our office. The following documents need to be completed and submitted together by your district's deadline:

Castleberry, Everman, Fort Worth, and Mansfield ISDs have confirmed that they will not charge for credit recovery.
It takes up to five days to review an application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Approval or Denial
You will receive a letter via email when your child's request for summer school tuition was approved or declined If approved, you must provide the approval letter to your school district when you register your child for summer school. Without the approval letter, the district may charge you for the cost of tuition. If your district is registering for summer school online, please direct any registration questions to your district. Gill may only cover a portion of the tuition needed. The tuition approval limit for 2025 is two half-credits per student. Be prepared to pay your guardian contribution when you register for summer school.
Gill is not responsible for the expense of any particular service or item unless we have specifically pre-approved payment for that service or item, for a specific date, after agreement with the provider/vendor to a specific discounted amount.
